'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez Reaction To Tour Opener

Roberto Martinez was left concerned after today's defeat against Stormvogals Telstar as Garry Monk suffered an ankle injury.

The defender left the field after just 38 minutes and visited the hospital for an x-ray on a damaged ankle.

Roberto Martinez told the Official Site:

''We are obviously concerned,''

''After missing the majority of last season through injury, this is the last thing we want as he was getting stronger and looking in fantastic shape.

''Hopefully it won't be too serious, but we'll just have to wait for the results and treat the injury accordingly.''

After watching his side lose 2-1, Martinez added:

''The last thing I'm interested in is the result,''

''It was a great exercise and tactically I got a lot out of it.''
