'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pre-Season Preperations Continue

Roberto Martinez has given the Squad a warning this week. After a gruelling training camp in Sweden, the Squad will be put through their paces this week.

The Swans had been training 4 times a day. This trend will continue as the team prepare for a series of friendlies in the Region.

The Squad will play Neath Athletic at Landarcy Park on the 18th, Llanelli at Stebonheath Park on the 19th and Port Talbot at the Remax Stadium on the 25th.

Roberto was also quick to mention that the new players have settled in well.

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez Told The South Wales Evening Post:

''The new boys all fitted in well. The players have made them all feel welcome.'

'It has been a fantastic week and it has been ideal preparation for a tough 10 months ahead.''

Swansea City Defender Alan Tate also had given insights into what the players have thought about the training sessions out in Sweden.

He told The Western Mail :

What he had us doing even before we went to Sweden was really tough and our estimation of him has certainly changed. I would go as far to say he is evil - and that`s being kind.'"We`re beginning to get ready. It`s been tough but that`s what you expect when you`re heading into a new season wanting to achieve what we want to. We knew it was going to get harder out here and we`ve been proved right.

But even before we left for the camp he had us running around Singleton Park, doing different sets with different coaches and making sure we did a certain amount of laps in under 20 minutes. It was hard.'

It very much seems that he has put them through their paces and will not relent all pre-season. The players will benefit from this in the months ahead.

For us to finally win promotion into the championship we must make sure that we are in tip top shape. It is good to see that Roberto is making sure that the boys are fit enough to be competitive! This is just the begining!
