Swansea Make Port Talbot Link

Swansea Make Port Talbot Link

In the wake of the new Link up with Premiership side Liverpool fc; Martinez has established a link with League of Wales side Port Talbot Town.

This link will see young players like Joe Allen , Kyle Graves and Scott Evans all likely to make the move to the Remax stadium on loan.

Roberto has highlighted fundamental flaws within the UK leauge system than stems youngsters development within the game. He argues that the step up from Youth teams and First team is too big for youngsters to make.

Martinez has indicated that he wants to keep careful track of these young players to make sure that no talent slips through the net.

Swansea City Manager told The South Wales Evening Post :

' 'In the UK, there is a big gap between finishing playing youth football and then playing in the first team,'Competitive football is something you miss at that age because while reserve football is okay to an extent, you can get a bit stale.'

You need to move on to the next challenge and the Welsh Premiership offers a fantastic opportunity for young players to step up to the next level.'

We will have a daily link-up with the players so we can monitor their progress. They will work with us but then play for Tony Pennock.'

This is certainly a positive move by Martinez and will ensure no talent slips through the net. Martinez has worked tirelessly during the last few months to secure these types of links that will benefit the side in the long term.

It is that foresight that will prove to be a good move for our youngsters who will gain vital match experience and develop in first team rather than in the reserves.

You can not beat regular first team football as it is competitive. This is the type of emphasis these players need to be put under as it can mean surviving relegation or pushing for the title. Some of our youngsters may play in Europe while our first team don't! Martinez is working really hard to make sure Swansea is a successful club!
