De Vries Considers Swansea Move

There are strong rumours circulating that Dunfermline goalkeeper Dorus De Vries has visited Swansea this week over a possible move to the Liberty Stadium.

Although Chairman Huw Jenkins confirmed the out of contract shot stopper is keeping his options open with regards to a new club, apparently he has visited the city to consider a move to South Wales.

The former Den Haag keeper has been a target since the end of the season at least, and with Gueret the only keeper at the club at present, that position should now be our top priority.

I'm hoping that Martinez is looking at De Vries as our new number 1, and if so I can see Gueret looking for a move elsewhere to continue playing first team football.

Premiership side Wigan have also been reported to have shown an interest in De Vries, and whether they still are or not, no doubt Swansea face competition for his services.

Huw Jenkins told the Evening Post:

'I think Roberto is still talking to him,'

'But he does have a few options as well. It is no secret that we do need a new keeper as we only have one.

'Hopefully things should become a little clearer in the next few days.'

I think the rumour that De Vries has been in Swansea recently could well be true. We're in talks with him says Jenkins and the guy who reported the rumour was spot on with Bodde (in the end!). Whether he'll sign for us or not is unknown as it sounds like he's only been here to consider a move to us.

Hopefully we will have a new keeper souner rather than later.

Hopefully, but there were a few Keepers available on a free bosman this year who i thought may get aproached by Martinez this year, Danny Coyne was one.

We definately need a new keeper as Willy is unable to do a job at this level! As long as Roberto brings in a keeper who will at least challenge Willy for his place then i'll be happy. Preferably to replace Willy though!
