Swindon to Sign Akinfenwa

Swindon to Sign Akinfenwa

Former Swansea City Striker Adebayo Akinfenwa is set to sign for League One Rivals Swindon Town.

The Sriker will put pen to paper on a One Year deal subject to passing a Medical with the the Robins.

Akinfenwa rejected a contract extension with Swansea City earlier on in the month and was free to move onto another club.

Swindon Town's Official Statement:

'The bustling front man turned down the offer of a one-year contract at The Liberty Stadium and arrives at The County Ground on a one-year deal..Akinfenwa, 25, has valuable experience in the lower divisions.'

Akinfenwa had hit out at Swansea for the shortness of his contract term. With Swindon offering just a one year contract its seems illogical now that he turned down the deal from Swansea.

In spite of his loss the Swans have added another striker to their forward line with Guillem Bauza Mayol moving from Espanyol.

Seems a shame that he has left us for Swindon when they offered him the same length contract! However, i wish him good luck at his new club and hope he doesn't regret his move!

basically we offered him poor money Czeck_Jack, a lot lot less than he was on last season. So he just moved on to Swindon to get more money by the looks of it. Staying at Swansea was a better move for his career you have to stay as we are aiming for automatic promotion.
