Squad To Be Finalised In Mid July

Squad To Be Finalised In Mid July

Roberto Martinez says his squad will not be finalised until mid-July when he makes his final signings.

So far, the Swansea boss has made 5 signings - Jason Scotland, Guillem Bauza Mayol(strikers), Ferrie Bodde and Matty Collins (midfielders) and Angel Rangel (full back).

4 players have left - Tom Williams, Andy Oakes, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Izzy Iriekpen.

Following the signing of Spanish full back Rangel, Martinez told the Evening Post:

'The squad won't be finalised until the second or third week of July,'

'We can't just make assessments without having a good look at the players we have.

'I'm very, very happy with the way everything has been going.

'We have a lot of decisions to make and what the players do will help us make those decisions.'

Roberto is still yet to solve our Goalkeeping problem with the very unreliable Willy Gueret being our only shot stopper currently at the club at present.

There are strong circulating at present that Dunfermline keeper Dorus De Vries is in Swansea to finalise a move to the Liberty Stadium.

De Vries has been a popular name throughout this Summer as being one of our top goalkeeper targets. Rumours are also suggesting that Martinez is looking for new No.1 to replace Gueret, personally I certainly these are true!

Glad to see that Martinez isnt happy with just the 5 signings he has made allready! Hopefully we will finally have a squad and manager who are able to deliver our dream of championship football - possibly further after listening to what Martinez has been saying in the press!
