Spanish Defender Rangel Joins Swans

Swansea City have captured the signing of Spanish full back Angel Rangel for an undisclosed fee from Segunda B side Terrassa.

24 year old Rangel will sign a performance related contract with the club and will be in the city tomorrow to sign his contract with the club.

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez on the Official Site:

''He's really excited about joining us, he is hungry and desperate to progress his career and be successful with Swansea City.

He is a good, attacking full-back who is also strong defensively; playing anywhere across the back.'

Rangel becomes the clubs 2nd Spanish signing in recent days and follows fellow compatriot Guillem Bauza Mayol into the club.

He will offer vital defensive cover needed after the departure of Izzy Irikepen.

Rangel's signing will also offer vital competition for places in the defensive line.

Now we have secured the much needed defender a Goalkeeper and Winger are a must.

Martinez says there are still more to come and his shopping list wont be complete untill mid July. Gonna be interesting to see what else he thinks we need. Its gotta be a keeper and duffy for me and id like to see a centre back or two.
