O Leary Signs New 1 Year Deal

Out of contract player Kristian O'Leary has signed his 1 year extension with the club.

O'Leary had been given an extension to decide where his future would be with Swansea since he was out of the country.

Kristian has turned down a 3 year deal from League One rivals Cheltenham Town.

The Robins had been looking to secure his permanent services after a successful loan spell last season.

Kristian O Leary told the Official Site:

'Swansea is where my heart is and I hope my decision to turn down the three-year deal proves my commitment to the club.

It was a tough decision because I had such a fantastic offer from Cheltenham.

O'Leary now becomes the last of the out of contract players to decide his future after Izzy Iriekpen and Adebayo Akinfenwa rejected new deals.

The veteran Swans Midfielder will find it tough to secure a place in the starting 11 with the acquisition of Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

Glad to see that Kris stayed. It certainly proves his commitment and if he is able to work hard in training then his presence will keep the pressure on all of our midfielders who are pushing for a starting place. Competition is healthy and it will keep the squad on their toes!
