Jones In Scottish Move

Jones In Scottish Move

17 year old striker Chris Jones has joined Scottish Division One side Hamilton Academicals on a one year loan. Jones has found breaking into the Swansea Side very tough indeed and this move signals an intent by Martinez to retain talent.

There seems to be a new policy at the club regarding transfers of which Jones and fringe players will be give opportunities to gain match experience instead of being on the bench or playing in the reserves.

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez on the Official Site:

''This is a unique opportunity for Chris to gain more first team experience in a very professional environment. The move is vital for his education as a player and a person.

hris will be monitored on a daily basis.I'm convinced his overall game will improve playing in a squad that is young and capable of playing football in the right way. When I spoke to Chris about the move, he was excited about it. team.'

The club have stated in the Official statement regarding the loan that they have the option to recall him.

Jones has impressed at the club with his pace and movement have been earmarked as his greatest assets. This move will make him a better player which will have long term benefits for the club.

The South Wales Evening Post have also reported that Steven Watt is also set to follow Jones out on Loan.

Good luck Chris.

This would suggest to me that the duffy deal is done as i dont think RM would let Chris go without being assured he had enough cover for the 1st team.

It can only mean good things for the club and the player as he will only get better the more matches he plays!
