'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Costa Del Swansea for Martinez

Swans skipper, Roberto Martinez has indicated he'd like to stay with the club for the rest of his career.

Though he's not sure if he has a long term future at Swansea City as his contract expires next June.

'I am glad for the players who are getting new contracts or extensions but in football every situation is different,'

'I would love to stay at Swansea as long as I could, that is not a lie, but it is not in my hands. It is for other people to make the decision.

'I don't know what the future holds. I've got a contract at Swansea until June 30 and anything can happen.'

'I would love to spend the rest of my career at Swansea,' said Martinez, who will be 33 next summer.

'When we were in a relegation battle to avoid dropping into the Conference, I got really attached to the club and that has grown over the past few years.

'I know I have many years in front of me, but I would love to retire in this football club.

'It is hard for me to see myself away from this place and I would like to play in the Championship with Swansea.

Roberto Martinez played a vital role during the relegation season two seasons ago and after an injury the following season, we hadn't seen the glimpses of excellent play that we all know he's capable of. Promotion to League One this term though has seen the Spaniard enjoy the extra space and time on the ball and has improved signiicantly from last year.

Let's hope that his injuriers mend and he has another excellent few years playing for Swansea. Good Luck.
