Latest Swansea City Poll Results

In our recent poll (suggested by member 'barrydoom'), we asked the fans how many new players they think we need to sign for the new season.

Here's how you voted:

None - 3%
1 or 2 - 3%
3 or 4 - 58%
At least 5 - 29%
Practically a new team! - 7%

The majority of fans (58%) believe we need at least 3 or 4 new faces in readiness for the new season while 29% think we need 5.

So far, Martinez has signed 3 players - Jason Scotland, Matty Collins and Ferrie Bodde but has yet to replace goalkeeper Andy Oakes as well as strengthening our rather poor defence.

I'd like to see 3 more players this summer. I think we need a left sided midfielder following the release of Tommy Williams. A new (preferably no 1) goalkeeper and a centre back after Iriekpen today confirmed he has rejected our new contract offer.

Darryl Duffy could also still be a possible signing after a change of chairman at Hull City. A move for the striker looked to have been ruled out after previous chairman Adam Pearson asked for a £500,000 fee for his services.

Today was deadline day regarding the 4 out-of-contract players at the club. Akinfenwa and Iriekpen and confirmed their departure while O'Leary has been given more time to decide as he is currently out of the country.

Garry Monk is the only player so far to have signed a new deal. Are you glad he's signed? Let us know in our new poll.

I'd say about 6 or 7 new faces in my opinion. Obviously a 'keeper and I'd say a left back to challenge Painter. I thought we needed a centre back before Izzy left so I'd now say 2 decent centre back's...and I'd also say a natural left footed winger to challenge and give us something different. Lastly, 2 strikers. We only have 3 strikers and one of those is Abbott who I try to like...but I just don't have confidence in him. Our squad as it stands is looking pretty small.

I'd have to agree we do need quite a few new faces, perhaps the poll is a little out of context, as at the time we didn't know that we would lose bayo etc.

yea think the poll went on a bit long because with izzy and bayo going we need 2 more players to replace them.

58% said 3/4 new players - we already have 3 - Scotland; Bodde & Collins. We needed a Goalkeeper & Centre back also which would be 5. Due to Izzy & Bayo now going , we now also need another CB & striker which we all hope will be Darryl Duffy. I wonder when all the long term injured (midfielders OTJ; Pratley & Way) will be back in contention for first team places.

3 or 4 players, like you said Willow you already got that, a keeper is a bit of a priority for you. That has to be your next signing surely
