Jenkins Plays Down Boyd Move

Jenkins Plays Down Boyd Move

Swansea City Chairman Huw Jenkins has played down a move for out of favour Luton Town striker Adam Boyd.

Boyd has been touted as a possible transfer target for Roberto Martinez this week. However, chairman Huw Jenkins was quick to set the record straight regarding the Transfer rumours over Adam Boyd.

Jenkins told the Evening Post:

''Adam Boyd is a player who is being touted around.

For whatever reason things haven't worked out too well for him at Luton, but it would be wrong to say he is someone we are chasing.

We have talked about him because he is being touted around, but that's as far as it has gone.'

Jenkins also discussed the clubs position on Hull City Striker Darryl Duffy. The Tiger's estimation of the player at £500,000 has been a major stumbling block over the players permanent move to Swansea.

This month there have been significant changes at Hull City with a new chairman Paul Duffen coming into the KC Stadium.

Swansea City Chairman Huw Jenkins and new Hull City Chairman Paul Duffen have been in talks over Duffy's future.

Huw Jenkins on Duffy talks:

''The new Hull chairman has phoned me and we've had a chat about it,'

'He got in touch because he knows we had been discussing Darryl's situation...we found it hard to understand how a club could sign a player (for £250,000) and then argue that his valuation should go up when he hasn't really played for them.

I think now Darryl's future will depend on their manager. He (Phil Brown) will have to decide what players they want to bring in and who they need to move out.

We will have to see what happens this week and then next week I think everything should become clearer,'

With the imminent departure of Adebayo Akinfenwa it leaves the forward line a little exposed and will require a new striker coming into the club.

Let's hope the new Hull owner will be more reasonable over Duffy's price then their manager.
