Bodde Completes £50,000 Move

As we reported some weeks ago now, Ferrie Bodde has completed his 50,000 transfer from Den Haag.

The transfer was then confirmed officially by Ado Den Haag this evening.

The Official Announcement Translated:

''ADO Den Haag have come to an agreement over the transfer of Ferrie Bodde . He still had till 2009 to run on his contract. Bodde made his first appearance for den haag on the 21st April 2001 against FC Zwolle. The 25 year old made 161 competitive appearances for the club with 11 goals'

Bodde had been linked to a move to VVV-Venlo who were promoted to the Eredivise last season. He was also linked to FC Zurich the Swiss Bundesliga Champions.

Aberdeen we also linked but could not raise the transfer fee for Bodde and pulled out of negotiations.

It is thought that the fee will be around £50,000 initially with it rising to £80,000 on appearances.

Bodde through the Swansea City official site expressed his joy about being a Swansea player

"I came to watch the Blackpool game and I had goose bumps during the build up to kick-off.

"With nearly 20,000 there the atmosphere was fantastic; very passionate, especially when the teams ran out. The noise was unbelievable.

"It was a new experience for me. Out in Holland it's not often you play to a full stadium; it's more like 5,000 to 10,000.

"Most players in Holland would love to play in the English Leagues and I'm fortunate that my dream has come true. I really want to play well for Swansea and go on to play at a higher level with them.''

"I like to pass the ball and play football the way it was meant to be played, but I also like a battle. And I'd like to think I play for the team rather than just myself.

"Roberto spoke to me a lot before I came over to sign. He told me the way he wants me to play and I like what he said.

"He gave me a good feeling and it's important for a player to get that trust from a coach or manager.

"It was another major factor in my decision to sign for Swansea. It's going to be a big adventure for me and my family to leave Holland, but one we are looking forward to. I just can't wait to get going.

Good signing he wasnt used correctly at ADO
Karld
Looking forward to seeing how he performs in a Swans shirt. His record looked a bit dodgy while he was at Den haag with alot of cards being shown to him but i would like to see him play before i make my mind up!
jack hammers
how should he be used Karld? what type of midfielder is he? if he is a bit like keano then thats exactly what we need. a no messing hard tackler.
GThomas
I think he is an exciting prospect, i am not worried about the cards he got in Holland as its a diffent game there and i know that Roberto wont stand for it also Tate got more last season anyways. Keeper next!
barrydoom
It looks as though he will be centre of midfield and as a good passer of the ball he could be our play maker.
