Martinez Continues Spanish Quest

Roberto Martinez has continued his scouting tour of Spain for new players this week. Martinez had stated that he would use the European market to secure the players needed for another promotion push.

Swansea have already signed Jason Scotland from Scottish side St Johnston for a nominal fee as well as Matty Collins from Fulham.

The Swans boss has highlighted Spain as a potential place to secure talent.

Roberto spoke to the south wales evening post on his search for players in Spain:

'' 'I have taken in five games in five days this week..People may say it is quiet at the moment but I can assure you that it is not..I watched a game in Andorra and four in Spain. It is important that we get as much information as we can - and not just about players either...there is one team that I really want to see play before they finish their season and I hope to do that...I'm at looking at every single department and ways that I can improve Swansea City Football Club.''

There has been much criticism by fans of the club over the lull in the transfer market in recent weeks.

The thorough approach by Martinez over his player search must be commended.

In recent seasons we have panic bought players who have not been affective on the field of play but it seems the new approach this season will be a benefit towards the team.

It is a must to get the right players in, I think its a case of watch this space.

Thought it was a bit quiet, 5 games in 5 days good effort!

As long as Martinez carries on his thourough search like his is at the moment then there is no reason why we wont be looking like one of the favourites for promotion next season!

Martinez is still working hard to bring in players who he considers better than what we have at the moment. If he does find someone then they have to be prepared to pull up roots and move to Swansea.

I think Roberto would benefit from a bigger and better scouting network! Although he strikes me as the kind of manager who likes to do it himself.

Martinez is a very hands on manager but he could still do with having a better scout network. He has been doing alot of travelling this summer and you could question how good a look at players he is able to get if he is only in the country for a day or two!
