Way and Jones Eye Early Season Start

Swansea City Physio Richie Evans has been very busy this summer with Shaun McDonald, Steven Watt, Bayo Akifenwa, Owain Tudor Jones and Darren Way all requiring long term treatment.

Owain Tudor Jones has been in America receiving treatment from Dr Steadman in the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Colorado. Owain was thought to be making good progress with his knee injury in which saw him make only 5 appearances last season.

Swansea City Midfielder Owain Tudor Jonesspoke about his return to action to the evening post:

'I'll probably be doing my own pre-season with Richie, but I'm hoping to be playing again by August or September...A couple of weeks won't really make any difference to me after all this time out. I'm just looking forward to mixing with the lads again and experiencing the new gaffer's ideas.'

Owain also offered an time scale over Darren Way's Return to the first team. Darren has not been seen in a first team shirt since October 14th.

"Seriously, Darren's coming along okay too. He's at roughly the same stage as me so, hopefully, we'll be making our comebacks around the same time.''

This is a timely boost to the Squad as Martinez continues to build for next season.

It is important to have a fully fit squad for the start of the season. All players will be taking part in pre-season matches to state their claims. If these two are not playing in these games, then they will not be included in our first team squad for some time.

Jus because they wont be featuring in hte pre season doesn't mean they will not feature but it will make it more difficult for them to breack into the first team. Im looking foreward to seeing both of them playing again next year.
