To The Double as Collins Signs

To the Double, Swansea City have signed 21 year-old Welsh Midfielder Matty Collins from Fulham on what is thought to be a free transfer.

Matty Collins who is from Merthyr Tydfil, has made 12 reserve team appearances last season. He has been training with the club and impressed Martinez whilst here in Swansea.

Swansea Manager Roberto Martinez on his time training with the swans as BBC sports reported:

' He doesn't come on a regular basis but he's had a couple of training sessions with us...His attitude is fantastic. I'm always interested in Welsh talent and I hope he's been enjoying his time with us.'

This is a good signing for the swans as we look to strengthen for next season.

Martinez looks to be a very shrewd dealer in the market. i think his priority should now be either a Goalkeeper or a Left Back!!!

Why do we need a left back when we have Marcos Painter? I'd agree on needing a new goalkeeper as i don't rate Gueret at all!

we don't have backup in that position though. Austin just isn't good enough at left back. I think we need backup for painter.

We need...if not back-up...but actual competition for Painter's place as we are likely to suffer injuries...A keeper is needed! Roberto's comments on being interested in Welsh talent should be admired as this can only have a positive effect on Welsh football itself! Hopefully this lad can become a good player for us.
