Bodde Catches Swansea Ferrie

According to reports from ADO Den Hagg co Owner John van Zweden; Swansea city have won the race for Dutch Midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

It is thought that the midfielder will join for a fee of £50,000 rising to £80,000 after the player makes 50 appearances for the Swans. The club have been tracking the player for some time and even tried to sign Bodde last season.

Swansea confirmed their interest in Bodde a few weeks ago.

Chairman Huw Jenkins On Bodde Interest from sky sports site:

' 'Ferry is one of a number of players we are interested in..We tried to get him last season, but with them going down it might make it easier.'

Swansea have faced some competition for his signature from Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen. It is thought that the Dons could not raise the transfer fee required to secure Bodde's Services.

He is contracted to ADO Den Hagg until the summer of 2008 but this season they were relegated to the Eerste Divisie after only amassing 17 points all season. This certainly would have played a part in his decision to leave the Zuiderpark Stadion based outfit.

Looks like Martinez has made his first sighning then. Hope he turns out to be a good one like Duffy was.

Yes the 1st signing, i dont know anything about this guy, not sure we really need anymore midfielders, if OTJ and Way are coming back though perhaps a stricker is a more pressing matter.

We need a midfield play maker and I hope he is that type of player. As a new player, he will be keen to make a good impression, so I look forward to seeing him play.

yes i agree, no harm in strenth in depth. thats what makes a good side to a very good side strenth in depth. do you all agree, we need to have that strenth upfront and in defence and in goal.

According to the Evening post website a deal has not yet been done, Roberto is still in talks with player and agent.

Id have to agree that we need strength in other areas of the pitch before strengthnening the midfield but like ksp1977 said theres no harm in strength in depth. As long as we do strengthen other areas then well be in a good position next season!
