Swansea look North

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez has started his search in earnest to strengthen the side for the 2007/08 season.

Martinez has looked to Scotland no pun intended, to strengthen the squad for next season. Rumored to linked with the Swans are Trinidad and Tobago international Jason Scotland , St Mirren's John Sutton and David Van Zaten and Dunfirmline Keeper Dorus De Vries

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez spoke to the evening post and offered his views on the Scottish Market:

'''The Scottish market is thriving and more affordable than the English league and it's something the club should tap into,''

There is many rumours about about the desination of out of contract Striker Jason Scotland. Norwich have thought to have an ongoing interest in the world cup star.

Martinez has stated he has 70 or so players that he is tracking.

Don't know a great deal about Scottish football but seems like it could be the place to pick up a bargain or two.

Well worth a look. We did have Scottish players a few years ago, - Walker who became captain, Chambers and I think the third was Hughes? They were first team players during that season. So hopefully we can get some good players without spending a fortune.
