Swans To Loan Players To Sweden

Roberto Martinez says he will be sending some of his players on loan to Sweish clubs this Summer.

Teenagers Scott Evans and Kerry Morgan will be loaned to Swedish third division side Ostersund and Shaun MacDonald and Steven Watt could join them depending on their fitness.

The Swansea boss also says that his squad will also spend time in Scandinavia as well as Holland as part of their Summer tour.

Roberto Martinez said on the official site:

''The season runs differently to ours in Sweden, with matches from April to the end of June and then August to October,''

''These players will go out there because they've not had enough football.

''They will be above the standard out there, but the club is very professional, the pitches are beautiful and it will be a great experience for our young players.

''Going abroad will help their progression and the competitive football will get them ready for our pre-season.''

''The place where we're going is where Sweden's skiing world champions are based and the facilities are fantastic,''

''It's also 1,000 metres above sea level, so it will be great for our players to train out there.''

Certainly a good idea for players who are retuning after being out of football for so long with long term injuries. Way & OTJ not mentioned, and Monk has not yet re-signed.

It sounds like a good idea, he also seems to be setting up links in Scotland too!

I like the way that Martinez is looking at the squad in general. He is not only looking at people who are ready to push for a starting place but also people who have been out of action or are young and need experience. If he carries on like this then the future looks promising.
