Martinez Has Up To 70 Targets

Martinez Has Up To 70 Targets

There should be plenty to talk about this summer as Martinez says he is tracking up to 70 players.

We can expect a number of names to be linked with moves to the Liberty Stadium as the Swansea boss reveals the areas of the squad in which he'd like to strengthen.

Martinez said in the south wales evening post:

''I know where I need players - we need pace in the wide areas, that quick striker with a good goal-scoring record and we have no cover for a play-making midfielder.

''We've a huge squad but it wasn't big enough in certain areas so there are three or four positions we want to cover and we have our targets - many targets.

''We're tracking probably up to 70 players.''

Things sound promising for the Swans next season if he can get quality players in these positions.

I and many others I expect agree that we need some more pace and attacking options on the wings and we'll definitely need another goalscorer next season.

Without Trundle, neither Akinfenwa or Abbott look like scoring on a regular basis and hopefully Duffy will be joining us permenantly.

Swansea have already been linked with a number of players such as Ferrie Bodde, Dorus De Vries and Jason Scotland but it seems it could be anyone's guess who'll be joining with such a long list of targets.

Ferrie Bodde, Dorus De Vries and Jason Scotland, also Mullan who has been offered a contract, are among the 70 he talks about. As there is still time before the start of the season, these players will take their time to consider their options.
