'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Duffy's Future Is In Hull's Hands

Roberto Martinez says he wants to sign on-loan striker Darryl Duffy but his future is in Hull's hands.

The striker has scored 4 goals in 3 games since he joined and it's no surprise that the Swansea boss wants him for next season.

His future all depends how Hull feel about the player though and whether or not they are willing to sell him in the Summer's transfer window.

He is out of favour with the Tigers, and went on loan to the Swans for some much needed experience.

Martinez wants to forget about his future at the moment so that he can concentrate of firing his side into the Championship: 'I just want him to enjoy his football,'

'If you've got a player who keeps scoring two at every home game it would be stupid not to want to keep him.

'Darryl is a joy to work with but his future is in Hull's hands, not mine.'

'Darryl has been improving from the first day he came here,'

'He has adapted to Swansea and our football club and he has got a fantastic attitude.

'Some of his clever movement is a joy to watch and his finishing again was up to a top standard.

'His second goal was worthy of winning any game; he took it in fantastic fashion.

'He has got that little bit of pace and clever movement on defenders' backs and you could see Brighton were trying to keep a high line and really condense the midfield.

Duffy has quickly proved to be an excellent late signing by Roberto Martinez.

He made an instant impact as he scored a brace on his debut against Port Vale and scored another against Brighton on Saturday, winning us the game with both our goals.

I think it's absolutely vital that we try and sign him in the Summer and I think it's possible.

It looks as if he's guaranteed a first team place here unlike at Hull, where he has struggled to nail down a regular place in the team.

That could be one attraction that could force Darryl's interest to sign for us permanantly, plus the fact that he has stated he is enjoying his time here.
