'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez's Match Reaction vs Vale

Roberto Martinez still thinks it'll go down to the last game away at Blackpool on whether his gets a play-off place or not.

He said: 'I'm not here to make miracles, but I still believe that if we win two of our next three games it will go down to the final game against Blackpool for a place in the play-offs. I believe that and the lads in the dressing believe that as well.

'The Blackpool game is going to be massive, but history proves that Swansea City always come good when it matters. That's the way we always seem to do it.

'Goal difference could also play a major part and that's why I was just as pleased to keep a clean sheet as score three at the other end. That's a huge positive for me and it could be worth an extra point come the end of the season.

He also praised his strikers today as they got us the goals to give us all three points, he added: 'Trunds' performance was fantastic,''

It was a proper captain's performance. He got us the goal that set us on our way and some of the things he did were brilliant.

'Darryl Duffy was also given a starring role today for his first start and he really enjoyed it.

'When he came into the club we knew what he was bringing with him. But it was important he had time to settle in and today was the right time to give him his first 90 minutes.

'His two goals proved he was ready and highlighted the calibre of striker he is. He was dying to get that third goal.''

He added: 'It's been a hard two games where we've come away with four points when perhaps it should have been six.

'I think key today was the fact that we had five fresh legs out there; it made a huge impact.

It just goes to prove that it's about the whole squad sharing the responsibility and I've been really pleased with the way they've met the challenge.''
