Martinez's Views After 2-0 Defeat

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez shared his views following Saturday's 2-0 defeat away at Millwall.

His side were dealt a hamer blow when Alan Tate was shown red after two bookable offences half way through the first half.

He said: 'I thought Alan's first booking was a bit harsh. It was his first challenge of the game and (Millwall defender) Richard Shaw made a similar challenge which he didn't get punished for.

'The sending off was a big moment and psychologically it affected the players and Millwall took full advantage.

'We tried to go forward after the break as a win was important and a draw wasn't good enough - but we are still in with a chance of the play-offs. We have six massive games ahead of us.'

'Sending-offs do change games, but it's how you react to it and I thought we could get a result after,'

'Maybe it's because I always expect so much from my players but it did affect us psychologically.

'But it was one of those days that I'm sure everyone is going to get a lesson out of it, and we'll take that into the next six 'cup finals' we've got.'

After failing to keep up the momentum that's grown lately, Swansea now find themselves 4 points adrift of Blackpool who occupy the last play-off place.
