Injury Setback For Monk
When it looked like Monk was close to making a return, he has suffered another injury setback and could well miss the remainder of the season.
The central defender was looking to play the full 90 minutes in a Reserves game against Cheltenham on Wednesday, but he lasted just half an hour and physio Richard Evans said: 'The good news is that there is no fresh structural damage,'
'But he felt the knee on a couple of occasions on Wednesday night and, while it's settled down well, he needs more strengthening work on it.
'I wouldn't write off the season for Garry, particularly if we end up in the play-offs, but I am looking at getting him ready for the start of next season.'
'He was given the go-ahead by the consultant to start playing again six weeks ago and he has been training with the lads for four weeks now,'
'He has trained more and more and played more and more but had to come off.
'I'm looking at getting him in to the see consultant again next week just to see exactly where we are.'
