Swans To Share Training Facilities?

Swans To Share Training Facilities?

Swansea City are considering sharing training facilities with the Ospreys rugby team after being told they can no longer use the training pitch at Hersey Marine.

This is because a new road will be built going straight through the pitches.

The club are currently using the University facilities at Fairwood but are considering sharing those used by the Ospreys until their own Training camp is setup.

Chairman Huw Jenkins explained the situation and said: 'We knew we had a limited time at Jersey Marine and that time has now come to an end,'

'We're at Fairwood for the moment. We will be there from pre-season until September, and staying there for the rest of this season is an option for us.

'Another option is joining forces with the Ospreys and working full time at Llandarcy Park.

'And there are a couple of patches of land we may put some money into. There are a few things we are looking at.'

'We're talking about a stint of two or three years,'

'It's a short-term thing which is separate from our long-term thoughts about putting together a facility for our youth team, first team and eventually an academy.'

The club really needs a place of thier own to train, with up to date facilities. Alan Tate summed it up in the press a few weeks ago by pointing out that most of the squads injuries have came as a result of a poor training surface.
