'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Swansea-Chesterfield Match Reaction

It wasn't the best performance from the Swans but it was the win that counted plus a third consecutive clean sheet.

The victory extends Martinez's unbeaten run as manager and he said after the game: 'We're becoming a better team. We got the three points we were looking for but also the level of performance and that was the most pleasing thing.

'It was hard going at times but we created chances and they worked hard to get their rewards.'

'Going forward I thought we were creative and inventive and we found the solution to break Chesterfield down,'

'It's another great result to build for the next game.'

His opposite number Lee Richardson said he thought his side were going to get a valuable point: 'I thought we were going to get a point out of it but then the referee has contrived to give Swansea a lead they didn't look like taking.

'It was an even game and we had our chances but we've ended up losing 2-0 and that's disappointing.

'But we won't play any better sides than Swansea this year and if we continue like that we'll be okay.'
