'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martinez Adds To His Coaching Staff

After failing to bring Graham Barrow in as his assistant, Martinez has managed to secure the services of Graeme Jones, from Scottish side Hamilton.

Jones has left his assistant role at the Scottish Division 1 club to join the coaching staff at Swansea.

The 37 year-old comes highly recommended by Premiership side Middlesborough as he spent time working with Boro's youth academy, rated as one of the best in the country.

He holds an UEFA A coaching license and played with Roberto at Wigan as he helped the Latics to the Division 3 title, scoring 31 goals in 33 games.

A delighted Roberto Martinez said: 'I am delighted Graeme that has agreed to join the Swansea City set up,''

'His enthusiasm, knowledge, organisation and demands within the game will be vital for me to achieve all the aims I've got in mind.

He is highly-rated and regarded within the game and is the missing link with myself, Kevin Reeves and the rest of my coaching staff.''

Hamilton chairman, Ronnie MacDonald said: 'This was most unexpected. Swansea made an approach to us and matters developed from there. We thank Graeme very much for all his recent hard work and efforts and wish him all the best for the future.'
