Rotherham vs Swansea Preview

Roberto Martinez takes charge of his first game as new Swansea manager as the Swans travel to Rotherham United.

The 33 year-old former player could have just 13 players available as 9 of his 25-man squad are definately ruled out for tonight's game.

Those on the sidelines are: Darren Way, Owain Tudur-Jones, Garry Monk, Izzy Iriekpen, Richard Duffy, Darren Pratley, Adebayo Akinfenwa, Shaun MacDonald and Steve Watt.

Late fitness tests will also be handed out to Kristian O'Leary and Kevin Austin as Martinez is struggling to form a 16-man squad together.

Tommy Williams is also lacking match fitness and he's unlikely to feature.

Rotherham will be without Eugen Bopp as he has an ankle injury while Pablo Mills is out with a calf problem.

Michael Keane, Colin Murdock and Gregor Robertson are also out but Paul Hurst is available again.

On-loan Norwich City striker Ian Henderson also returns following suspension.

Martinez commented on the club's injury crisis and said:

'I only have 13 first-team players definitely available so I'm going to have to take some youngsters. It's a long list of injuries and it's rare to see so many.''

''I look at the players I do have and I'm happy,''

''It's a privilege to have them in my first managerial job.

He also shared his views on our last performance away at Yeovil and he added: ''Yeovil was a reality check,''

''I was disappointed with the performance and I told the players that. I know the standards of those players and that's the worst I've seen them for a long time. But the players were really down after the game and I loved that reaction.

''The fact is we are still in with a chance of reaching the play-offs and I'm confident I'll get a response.''
