Jackett Keen To Keep O'Leary

Cheltenham boss John Ward says he failed in his attempts to sign Kristian O'Leary in the transfer window.

O'Leary spent a month on loan at Whaddon Road where he impressed Ward and he is in the first team to face Cheltenham today.

Ward said: 'I don't think there is any chance of getting Kristian back.

'I enquired about him just before the window for permanent deals closed on Wednesday, but Kenny Jackett is keen to keep him as part of the squad.

'We are looking at doing something, though, because Scott would have helped us fill in the middle of the park. We are compiling a little list and will make some enquiries as we move into next week.'

There were rumours circulating not long before he went out on loan that Jackett would not be renewing his contract that expires this Summer.

However, the Swans boss turned down Cheltenham's attempts to sign him permanently and he still looks to be within Jackett's plans for now.
