Painter Set For Permanent Switch

Birmingham City left back Marcos Painter is set to join Swansea permanently after the two clubs agreed a fee.

The young full back has put in a consistent run of solid performances since joining on loan a few months ago.

Initially, a permanent move was all but ruled out when he first joined as Painter wanted to return to his hometown club but the prospect of first team football at the Liberty Stadium has appealed to the 24 year-old.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said: 'We have agreed a deal with Birmingham and Kenny will be talking to the player today,'

''Our first objective was to agree a deal with Birmingham and we have done that. Now we will be talking to the player.

''There is a fee involved but we won't release that until the deal is completed.''
