John Terry - Good Fit For Swansea or Past It?

John Terry - Good Fit For Swansea or Past It?

Swansea City boss Paul Clement has confirmed that he'll have a conversation with John Terry in the Summer, expressing his interest in signing the Chelsea legend on a free transfer.

The 36 year-old's spell at Chelsea, which has lasted almost 20 years, comes to an end on Sunday having not been offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Bournemouth are also thought to be interested in the former England international this Summer, while Clement has this week said:

'I don't know his thinking, whether he is going to carry on,'

'I will have a conversation with him. I've known him a long time.'

'There's been talk in the media it could be his last game or that he will go on,'

'Whether that is here in the Premier League, or whether that is abroad, that is all unsure at the moment.'

I'm sure the idea of John Terry joining the Swans will divide opinion amongst Swans fans, I'm not convinced that he'll want to join us for a start, though Clement might disagree having worked with him while at Chelsea.

It's questionable whether he's still 'up to the job' in the Premier League, and will he fit in at Swansea City?

There's no doubt however that we need a better centre back to join current first teamers Fernandez and Mawson, and there's the strong argument too that we could do a lot worse in the transfer window. Mike van der Voorn was an uninspiring signing from Ajax last Summer for example.
