Swans Give Up On £1m Williams
Swansea City have given up their attempts to sign Ipswich Town midfielder Gavin Williams.
The News of the World reported a few weeks ago that the Championship club were asking for £500,000 for the out-of-favour Welsh international, but this asking fee now seems to have doubled to £1m.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said: 'Gavin Williams is one of various players we've enquired about this month, but, as far as I know, Ipswich are keen on keeping him,'
'£1m is the fee I was quoted for Gavin, which is excessive. There's no way we we're going to pay that sort of money for him.'
Ipswich boss Jim Magilton is looking to sell the former Yeovil player after he went on a holiday to Amsterdam before an FA Cup game.
