Knight Signs For MK Dons

Leon Knight has completed his move to League 2 side for an undisclosed fee.

The striker fell out of favour with manager Kenny Jackett back in October 2006 and was then told his career at Swansea was over.

He turned down moves to Northampton and Peterborough as he was looking to join a club ''as big as or bigger than Swansea.''

He then failed to impress during a 2-month loan spell at Championship club Barnsley, failing to score a single goal.

The fee pai by MK Dons is thought to be the same or around the £125,000 we paid Brighton for him a year ago.

A club statement said:

"A lot has been said between Leon Knight and Swansea City over recent months, but now is the time for everyone to move on.

"Rather than look to blame any particular party in this event, we now need to draw a line under the whole affair and move on.

Unfortunately, as in life, things don't always work out as planned and we wish Leon all the best at his new club.

"Swansea City Football Club will not be making any more comments regarding Leon Knight.''

MK Dons boss Martin Allen said: "Leon has an eye for goal, he's quick, experienced and is a player I have had my eye on for a while.

"I am looking forward to working with him because he is an interesting character, but there is no doubt in my mind we will have some good times together and he will do very well for this club.''

I give him a year before he's storming off and causing disruption. Until then, Knight will bag quite a few goals partnering McLeod up front.
