Port Talbot - Match Reaction

Match reactions from both managers as Port Talbot beat Swansea to progress in the FAW Premier Cup.

Port Talbot Town manager Wayne Davies said:

'I'm immensely proud of the players. They did a fantastic job.

'They've not only beaten a strong Swansea side but matched them in all areas of the pitch. I don't think anyone could deny that

'The boys at the back were outstanding again. I thought we were the better side in the first 45 minutes and that gave us the belief that we could match them.'

Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett said:

'The game could've gone either way but it was disappointing performance from start to finish.

'We never got going. In extra-time I was picking my penalty takers before they scored. Lee Trundle had a good chance at the end but it didn't quite go for us.

'We should've gone on to win after taking the lead, but fair play to Port Talbot they played well.'

Jackett doesn't sound too bothered on the defeat and seems as though he's looking forward to focusing on the League as we take on Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday.

Although it's only the FAW Premier Cup you could say, but with the side we put out we should easily have beaten Port Talbot tonight.

We'll need a vast improvement if we want to get anything out of Saturday's game.

Good team out...drastic, lethargic, lazy and overall a completely crap performance!! They just didn't want to know!

I am glad that we're out, don't need this distraction at the moment, the money would of been nice but we just can't afford any more injuries and a backlog of games, the players need these free weeks to rest
