'Swans Taught Us A Lesson'

Carlisle manager Neil McDonald said his side were ''taught a lesson'' after losing 5-0 to Swansea yesterday.

'Swansea are probably one of the best sides we've played - and we were taught a lesson.

'We had been hit by injuries and a few late withdrawals but I can't take too much away from Swansea because they were top class - they were a cut above.''

As you'd expect, Kenny Jackett was absolutely delighted with his side's performance: 'It was a good win and I'm a happy man,''

'To win in the way we did is very pleasing. We're back in the top six and the aim is to stay there.

'It was an entertaining game and I think the crowd enjoyed it. In fact, if it wasn't for thier goalkeeper I think they would have seen even more goals.

'We've played like that in patches throughout the season, but over the entire 90 minutes that was probably the best we've played.

'We've clicked today and if you could capture that performance and bottle it for another day, you'd be very successful manager.''

That performance is definately up there with the Bristol City (7-1) game last season, if not better.

The opposition were slightly yesterday and we played excellent passing and flowing football at times.

I think Carlisle were lucky we didn't reach 7 or 8 like last season as we still missed some excellent chances. Now lets hope this is the turning point of our season and we continue to rise up the league.
