Painter Extends Loan Stay

Swansea City have extended Marcos Painter's loan stay by an extra month.

The Birmingham left-back initial one month stay expired after yesterday's game but he'll be staying at the Liberty Stadium throughout the busy Christmas period.

An ankle injury meant he was forced to return to his club to receive treatment but he was back in the first team yesterday in the 5-0 thumping win over Carlisle.

Jackett said: 'We have extended Marcos's loan spell,''

'Whether it will go beyond a second month I don't know at this stage.

'Birmingham manager Steve Bruce wants to see how his side comes through the busy Christmas and New Year period first with regards to injuries.

'Marcos had another good game against Carlisle and for a 20-year-old he is proving to be a very good player.''
