Knight Joins Barnsley On Loan

Knight Joins Barnsley On Loan

Transfer-listed striker Leon Knight has joined Championship side Barnsley on loan.

Kenny Jackett created controversy some weeks back when he announced he was going to sell our top scorer.

At first the majority of us thought Jackett was crazy but now it seems fans are split 50-50 as to whether he was right to let him go or not.

As you'd expect, internet message boards were dominated with Knight rumours, most of them potraying him to being a disruptive influence in the dressing room, others were deleted for obvious reasons!

Knight, meanwhile was puzzled at the decision, but he says he can't wait to get back to scoring goals for his new club: 'I am excited about the move. I have played up north a couple of times in my career and things have worked out well so hopefully I can get some goals for Barnsley.

'I have spoken with the people at Oakwell and they are talking about good things.

'Strikers are judged on goals and I scored a lot at Swansea and want to do the same here for Barnsley.

'I am ready to get out there and am really excited about this chance. I cannot wait to get out there playing and score some goals.'

There doesn't seem to be any hints of Barnsley trying to sign permanantly as yet, and with his reputation they probably want to take a look at him first before spending £125k or more for him.
