Swansea defender Izzy Iriekpen was arrested on Saturday after an incident outside a nightclub on the Kingsway.
Manager Kenny Jackett now says he will take action against the Nigerian.
He said: "We will discipline Izzy but not before we have got all the facts," Jackett said today.
"At the moment all we know is that he was arrested on Saturday night in the Kingsway after being involved in a fight. He has not been charged yet but has to go back to the police station on Thursday, December 14.
"I've spoken to Izzy about what happened but we still need to gather information and to wait and see what he is charged with."
"The only thing I've got to say is that this is not the sort of incident I want my players involved in," he added.
"It's a disappointment because we want to be known for entertaining football and winning football."
The police took the 24 year-old into custody and the defender has now been released on bail and must report back to the police on Thursday 14 December.
On the same day he scored a goal in the 3-1 FA Cup first round win at Newport.
