Trundle hopes to sign 'Image' deal
Swansea City star striker Lee Trundle is set to sign a special 'Beckham-style' deal that will control how is name and image are used.
Negiotiations have been on-going for some time now and if he does sign a deal, he will be the first player outside the Premeirship to do so.
It's been reported that he features on around 85% of the merchandise the club sells and the scouser wants more control over how his name is used and a percentage of the money it generates.
Club chairman, Huw Jenkins explains how this will benefit both the player and the club: 'We are talking about it for the benefit of both Lee and the club,' he said.
'Lee is obviously a high profile player and he has done much to raise the profile of the club, both on and off the field.
'We are always looking at ways of moving the club forward and this kind of deal could be a very positive step.
'But any deal will always be in the best long-term interests of the club.
'We hope to finalise the deal in the next week to 10 days and then we will give the supporters all the details.'
