Swansea City Confirm Villareal Home Friendly

Swansea City have confirmed details of a home pre-season friendly against Spanish side Villareal.

Garry Monk's side men face Jonathan de Guzman's team at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, August 9 (3pm) - a week before the Swans travel to Manchester United for their Premier League opener.

Swansea's Pre-Season preparations begin with a fortnight trip to America before the following friendlies back in the UK:

Plymouth Argyle (July 27), Exeter City (July 29), Bournemouth (Aug 1) and Reading (Aug 2).

Villareal finished 6th in La Liga last season and will offer the Swans a tough test ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

It'll be interesting to see which side Jonathan de Guzman will be playing for by then, as manager Garry Monk is still hopeful of making his loan move permanent.
