Jackett: 'We Were Unlucky'

Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett was dissapointed to see his side go out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last night away at Peterborough.

With two consecutive 1-0 away defeats this week with the third game at home on Friday, it's a must that we end on a good note.

Danny Crow got the all important goal just 3 minutes into the game thanks to a defensive mix-up between Lawrence and Gueret over a long ball.

The Swans boss said: 'It's disappointing to bow out of a competition we won last season and especially so as it was due to a soft goal.

'We made a bright start to the game but let Peterborough in front and, although we played pretty well, we couldn't get ourselves back level.

'We also lost 1-0 at Northampton in the league on Saturday and I think we can count ourselves unlucky to have gone down in both games.'

A typical post-match interview from Jackett is that. We were unlucky in both games? I think that's irrelevant, we still lost, failed to score and again conceded from a set-piece.

Jackett also praised young striker Chris Jones after making his first full start for the Swans. He said: "He's a prospect. The pace, work-rate and control he brought showed he has a promising future.

"Chris just couldn't quite get there in terms of finishing, but I'm sure that will come as he starts to develop."

Struggling Bournemouth visit the Liberty Stadium on Friday and anything but a win will surely see us exit the play-off places.

typical post match interview from Jackett. Unlucky? We still lost and didn't score in the last 2 games. He needs to look at the negatives and sort them out before the next game instead of saying we were unlucky, because I've heard we didn't play that well last night.
