Jenkins Pretty Much Confirms Monk As New Boss

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has pretty much confirmed that Garry Monk will be made the club's permanent manager.

An official announcement of his appointment is expected to be made this weekly, likely to be Wednesday and before the final game of the season - away at Sunderland on Sunday.

Of course, Garry Monk, who has said numerous times how he's enjoyed the role and would 'love' to get the job, won't hesitate in signing the two-year contract that will be offered to him this week.

Huw Jenkins told Wales Online, and we've highlighted the key quote below that surely confirms Monk as the man to guide Swansea City next season.

"The challenge of keeping the squad united as one and fully behind the new manager is hard to achieve," said Jenkins, who hailed a turbulent campaign as 'another big plus for our development`.

"Garry Monk and his staff may be inexperienced in some people`s eyes, but they have all worked extremely hard to adapt and refocus the whole squad.

"They have helped the team regain belief and confidence which should prove everyone with renewed enthusiasm for next season.

"I am sure with some hard work in the summer transfer window we can build another strong and united squad to start next season with a new level of optimism."
