West Brom Boss Reaction After Win at Swansea
West Brom boss Pepe Mel gives his thoughts on his side's win away at Swansea City.
The Swans were looking good at half time, after dominating and scoring early on to take a slim lead at the break, but their energy levels dropped considerably, and allowed the Baggies an easy way back into the game.
Pepe Mel said that it was important his side improved and scored early on in the second half:
"I am pleased for the fans and for the players.
"We needed to win because in football confidence is all. The players needed to win and now it`s different, I hope."
"I spoke about the problems we had, it was only half-time, and I said we needed to change - but the players at West Brom are intelligent,"
"We worked with three midfielders but the second ball was always for Swansea, it was a problem for us.
"We had to improve, it was important for us - and we did that.
"It worked but it was important to score in those five or six minutes after half-time."
Mel also believes his side will survive relegation:
"I believe we will stay up and the next eight or nine matches are important, but I am only thinking about winning the next one against Hull.
"The players will be happy on Sunday, but only then. The next training session I want to see them doing hard work again."
