Hughes Disappointed Not To Get a Penalty

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes admitted he was disappointed that the referee didn't give his side a penalty or two in the 1-1 draw against Swansea.

Stoke City struggled to impose themselves in the game, as Swansea performed well and dominated long periods, with 64% in the game overall, and significantly more in the second as the visiting side looked to go on and get the win following Chico's equaliser.

Stoke had a couple of shouts for a penalty to regain the lead after the break, but it looked like the referee got it right on both occasions, but of course the home fans and manager thought differently.

Hughes was happy in the end with a point:

'We didn't play particularly well but we got ahead in the game. As the home team, you want to be able to manage the game and get through and make sure you don't concede. The goal we conceded was a poor one.

Swansea played like they do, plenty of possession.

'We are a little bit disappointed the referee didn't give us a couple of penalties. Whether we deserved maximum points, I think people would debate that.

'Today wasn't a good performance but we got something out of the game. Maybe a couple of weeks ago we wouldn't have been able to.'
