Shelvey Wins 3rd Consecutive MOTM Poll

Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey wins his third consecutive Vital Swansea Man of the Match poll following his performance in the 3-0 home win against Newcastle United.

There has been mixed reviews about the youngsters performances this season since his somewhat controversial 5m move from Liverpool in the Summer. Controversial because some Swans fans didn't approve of Laudrup's decision to buy him, but after an indifferent start to the campaign, Shelvey is now proving the quality he has.

'Yes, he's really playing brilliantly at the moment. Was clearly the MOM and Newcastle couldn't handle him. '

The England under-21 international won us the game at Fulham, was the stand out player at Manchester City before helping us score 2 or the three against Newcastle United in the recent 3-0 home win.

You can't deny that he has been one of our best players in the last three games and that could be because he hasn't been playing as deep as he was earlier in the season.

Shelvey was pushed further forward against Newcastle due to a lack of strikers and he caused the Magpies all sorts of problems, and his influence at Fulham also proved to be the difference with another excellent strike from outside the box.

His most convincing poll win was in the Manchester City game, winning 73% of the votes, he narrowly finished above Ben Davies for the Fulham game with 26%, but he clearly won the vote again against Newcastle, with 68%, ahead of second-placed Dyer with just 13%.

Our new poll asks for your opinions on whether Michael Laudrup needs to strengthen the squad in January. Do we need a number of new players or do you think we need 1 or 2 new arrivals, but aren't sure whether we'll actually sign anyone like last January?
