'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Steven Watt Free To Leave

Kenny Jackett says he won't get in his way if a loan or permanant bid was to come in for defender Steven Watt.

There has been speculation ever since pre-season that his days at the club were numbered after rumours suggesting that he had been fighting with a fellow team-member on a night out.

There was also a photo posted on the forum of the player drunk at a nightclub in Swansea and the news comes as no surprise as Jackett said: 'Nobody has come in for him, but if anybody was to come in either for a loan or a permanent deal, we wouldn't stand in his way,'

The former Chelsea centre back was a hot prospect when he signed in January but he has hardly featured at all for the Swans since joining 9 months ago.

Only a matter of time before this news got out, and it's been well delayed.

Yeah, I expected this news, but I have been impressed with him when I have watched the reserves.

I think this is a bad desicion. Jackett has'nt really given watt a decent lenth of time in the first team he sould have given him more games in the first team and he might have burst into the first team regulary.

Quote from 10 January 2006. ""Steve is a quality player" confirmed Swans boss Kenny Jacket. "He is strong in the air and in the tackle. In fact, his all-round game is very good. I am delighted to add him to my squad. He is a quality acquisition." " Unfortunately he had a long term injury, but is now fit. We, the supporters, will now never know if the Manager's original assessment was right?
