Swans To Work On Set Pieces

We haven't been capable of attacking or defending set pieces for months and months and Kenny Jackett has finally said that they'll be concentrating on getting them right in training this week.

We conceded 2 more goals from set pieces in the 3-1 defeat away at Gillingham on Saturday and the Swansea boss said:

''We have the size and power to do better at both ends when it comes to set pieces,''

''There has been a lot of talk about the game and the bottom line was that Gillingham were sharper than us.

''But all the goals we conceded were avoidable.

''Even (Martin) Jarvis's came from our own throw-in and we conceded two from corners to a centre half.

''If we are not at our best we must be doing those things right so come the latter stages of the game we are still in it.''

Huddersfield visit the Liberty Stadium this Saturday as we hope to get back to winning ways after another suffering another break to our form.

Meanwhile, there's good news for midfielder Owain Tudur-Jones after visiting the National Sports Centre as he still suffers from a long-term knee injury.

Jackett said: ''Owain is lacking a range of movement in his right knee,''

''Over the next few weeks we will work him in and out of training and he should be back for the middle of next month.''

Work on set pieces? Has it taken Kenny this long to realise?
eastjack
He's been far too long noticing how bad we are at set pieces!

About time!! Every time we concede a corner our players look dis-organised and look as if they lack the confidence to just clear the ball!! Corners and free-kicks need to be improved!!
Jackman2006
next week they are going to practise penalties and even goalkeeper training for Willy and Oakesy, shocking!!

Sack him now he is an imbecile. To take this long to notice this glaringly obvious weakness shows that he and the rest of the staff are simply not good enough sack him now and save our season.

sorry shaun but burying your head in the sand and wishing won't put it right. we have been on a downward spiral since christmas so how much time do you think he should get. He isn't good enough, we need better coaching, which we won't get while jackett is too scared to bring in anybody better than himself just in case he gets the boot, which he so richly deserves.

lets wait till the next two games ronnie perhaps then we all know he should deffenetly be sacked

Having probably the tallest defence in the division, we should not be being beaten to the high balls.
