Laudrup Set For Contract Extension Talks
According to Michael Laudrup's agent, the Swansea City manager is set to hold talks with the club soon about a contract extension.
Last week Laudrup told the media that he was in 'no rush' to extend his contract and preferred to concentrate in the job at hand, although he did insist he was happy at the Liberty Stadium.
Chairman Huw Jenkins is keen to extend Laudrup's current contract, which expires at the end of next season, but an extra 12 months.
The story has developed further today it seems, by reports in Denmark to suggest that Laudrup and his agent with hold talks soon about staying in South Wales beyond 2014.
Laudrup's agent, Bayram Tutumlu told Ekstra Bladet:
'Yes, Swansea has a strong interest in extending Michael Laudrup's contract,'
'And in the coming days, we will meet with Swansea and discuss the possibility of an extension.'
After the club extended the deals of Michu, Wanye Routledge, Leon Britton, Garry Monk and Gerhard Tremmel recently, they'll now look to turn their attentions to extending Laudrup's contract.
If the Dane did put pen to paper then it would be a huge boost for the club, considering how far he has taken it in such little time. A 7th place in the Premier League table so far, a place in a cup final and potential Europa League campaign next year.
