Jackett: We Can Play Better

Kenny Jackett was pleased with another 3 points away at Brentford last night but he still wants more from his side as he believes they can still play better.

It's a good attitude really from the man who a lot fans for calling to get a sack just a couple of weeks ago. But after a good run, we now enter the play-offs again in 4th place.

Trundle was out injured which meant a return for Leon Knight (blessing in disguise maybe!?) and he scored 2 more goals against the side we played in the play-offs in May.

Jackett said: In the first half we played well, created a lot of chances and probably could have been more than one goal up,'

'But we can do a lot better than we did in the second half. We did what we do, but there was a lot of improvement and we'll look to do better at Gillingham this weekend.

'This result is no more significant than any other win. It's early in the season and we have to keep on building.'

'Fair play to him, they were both terrific goals,'

'I don't know what his goals-to-game ratio is since he's been with us, but it must be something pretty special. I think at £125,000, he was a good buy.'
- Understatement that Kenny!

Brentford manager Rosenior said: ''It was an even game and the second goal has killed us. I know they hit the post a couple of times but we had good chances too. It was end to end stuff but in the end that little extra bit of quality has beaten us.

In the second half we were trying to press and got done on the break after one of our corners. You`ve got to hand it to him - it was an absolutely tremendous finish and it killed us.

I`m proud of the team. They went out and performed. You look at the two sides and their resources and we matched them for long periods and it was an open game. Their quality has come out because they were ahead. I thought we had a good chance going into half time and felt that we were going to get chances and the key would be the next goal.''

I`ve got to say that I was one of many fans with anti Jackett sentiments especially after the start of the season we had. I`m glad the team are settling and starting to play the kind of football we were accustomed to at the early stages of last season long may it continue and apologies to Kenny for lack of faith.

Swans are looking promising lets keep it up all season now tho and get to the championship Bayo should start against gillingham and hopefully score past them Jacks going up

Its a fact that we play better with big bayo up front, our form dropped last season when Fallon came in for him and continued until the big mans recall. Stick with a winning formula Kenny you dont need to pay an out of form player to justify a large price tag.

maybe jackett has realised what bayo does upfront
