Routledge Extends Contract to 2016

Swansea City have received another boost as Wayne Routledge is the second player to extend his contract to 2016.

The winger extends his current contract by a further two years, and he follows Michu, who also signed a new deal last week.

Routledge has enjoyed his best season at the club since his move in 2011, and after struggling for games under Brendan Rodgers, he has superb for Michael Laudrup. The former Newcastle United player has scored 5 goals and managed 3 assists, proving to be a crucial player in the 2012/13 campaign.

The news comes as a big boost as the club looks to get as many of their star assets secured on long-term contracts.
